According to the National Immigration
Administration and the Ministry of Public Security, China would make it easier
for foreign businessmen to obtain port visas and have them renewed many times.Foreigners without enough time to apply for
visas to China outside the country but coming to China for business
negotiations, trade exchanges, installation and maintenance, participation in
exhibitions, investment, or entrepreneurial endeavors can apply for port visas
to enter the country with the invitation letter and certification materials of
the enterprise.People who must leave and enter China on
several occasions for business purposes can apply for a replacement within
three years of their arrival in China if they have a current business visa that
allows for multiple entries.These actions, according to Jia Tongbin, deputy director of the National
Immigration Administration's Department of Foreigners Management, will further
promote cross-border business personnel exchanges, make it easier for foreign
executives, businesspeople, and other personnel to conduct trade cooperation,
and enable and negotiate business activities in China.Foreigners should submit their passports to the Exit and Entry
Administration department for inspection when applying for resident permits in
China, and the document will be returned to them after they receive the
residence permits, according to existing regulations.Foreign nationals can now apply for residency permits while keeping
their original passports following verification, allowing them to handle
important affairs with their passports during that time.This policy focuses on foreigners who live in China permanently and who
do things like work, study, invest, conduct scientific research, start
businesses, and travel to see family. They can use their passports to conduct
social activities including travel, lodging, paying taxes, banking, and mailing
while they are waiting for their residence permits to be approved. According to
Jia, the change will assist establish a more effective and convenient business
environment, benefiting at least 700,000 individuals annually.
